About This Spot

Parkway Eatery welcomes you with the comfort of a beloved neighborhood diner, where time feels a little slower and the atmosphere hums with genuine warmth. Nestled along Industrial Parkway in Silver Spring, this cozy spot carries the quiet charm of an old-school American eatery—think familiar faces, easy conversation, and the kind of heartfelt care that turns quick stops into lingering moments.

The steady rhythm here is unhurried and inviting, with soft echoes of decades past threading through the space. It’s a place where the owner’s presence is felt as keenly as the aromas drifting from the kitchen—a reassuring sign that every plate is crafted with intention and affection. The friendly exchange at the counter and the subtle hum of daily life create a comforting, lived-in feeling that makes you want to settle in and savor more than just the meal.

The menu invites a sense of nostalgic satisfaction: classic American breakfast staples like fluffy omelettes, golden French toast, and stacks of pancakes are served alongside homemade comforts such as a gently simmered chicken noodle soup, each bite echoing a recipe passed down through generations. The star might be the carefully prepared sandwiches, where thinly sliced ribeye and fresh ingredients meld in a way that feels both simple and special—food that carries a quiet story in every mouthful.

Above all, Parkway Eatery embodies a human connection that extends beyond its hearty fare. The warmth and care carried by the owners and staff pervade the space, making every visitor feel like a welcomed part of an ongoing story. Whether you’re dropping in to grab a familiar favorite or lingering over a meal with newfound friends, Parkway Eatery offers a comforting pause—a reminder of the richness found in honest food and shared moments.

Spectacular recommendation, so glad I stopped in to meet Jay and have his one-of-a-kind Pork, Steak, and Cheese sub. It was absolutely delicious and the customer service was even better! Will definitely be by again next time I’m in the area. Thank you so much

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of Parkway Plaza Eatery in Longmont, a dining experience that had piqued my interest thanks to recommendations from local enthusiasts. Same owner and a cook, Jay, has been there 35+ years. Their signature “Steak and Cheese” is made from “thinly sliced Ribeye steak” - not the processed meat. Highly recommend to try it!. Jay’s and his wife’s “homemade” chicken noodle soup, a secret recipe from Jay’s mom, is amazing as well. They still keep their 80s ambience. Totally authentic American Deli.

Simple, delicious and affordable, clean and relaxing environment. I popped in because I had an appointment in the area and just wanted to go to a typical moco diner. What sets this place apart is that the owner definitely puts so much care and pride into the food and his business. He's also so upbeat and easygoing, humming while shuffling around. The vibe put a smile on my face and relaxed me when many times I get anxious and want to be left alone. I see why they have lots of regulars. Definitely will be back if in the area.

There’s a big difference between a sandwich and a sandwich made with love; you can taste it, and there’s LOVE in every bite here. The only reason I didn’t give Parkway Eatery 5⭐s is because I haven’t had a chance to try enough, but the food is definitely cooked with love. The service is amazing. Mr. Young is super friendly and even came out to my car to make sure that my order was right, because I forgot to order onions. I would order here every day! It’s clean, stocked with fresh coffee, has a decent selection of snacks and is just a pleasant atmosphere. I’ll be back!

For those who want a short version of my review: Excellent food. Homemade, real and fresh ingredients since the 80s. No frills. Just good, old-school deli with sandwiches and more. Survived COVID. Small, family-owned business. Detailed version: I've been going to this deli since I was 8 years old, which was 29 years ago. My parents took me there and we never stopped going. Everything on their menu is great, but personally, my favorite menu items are the Reuben, their classic Steak and Cheese sub, Chicken Noodle Soup and Deviled Eggs. The Reuben on rye is just delicious, comforting, greasy goodness with their homemade thousand island dressing and a little bit of coleslaw. I don't know if the coleslaw is what already comes with it because they know my order and don't ask, but I enjoy that extra crunch and little bit of sweetness in the sandwich. Their Steak and Cheese are a classic and still so good. I remember in the 90s when people used to line up out the door to wait for this sub. The Chicken Noodle Soup is seasonal and usually only available during the fall and winter. Hands down best chicken noodle soup you will find in the MoCo and surrounding areas. The owner Jay makes it himself now but he uses his mother's homemade secret recipe. I remember her and her husband. She was their secret weapon. She made all the recipes for all their homemade foods. Her husband was the taste tester and always chilling at a table reading a Korean newspaper until it was time for him to sweep. They passed away years ago, but they were there everyday. The deviled eggs contain relish, so it might not suite everyone's tastes, but I love it. So simple, so fresh, just good. There is a lot of history in their ingredients and recipes. They always put love and care into their food and that's why we haven't stopped going. Hope you all give them a try.
